Call for Abstracts: New Models in Substance Discovery

The 247th ACS National Meeting & Exposition is March 16-20, 2014, in Dallas, TX. In conjunction with this meeting, the Division of Chemical Information (CINF) is organizing a symposium entitled “New Models in Substance Discovery.”

Description: Presentations for this symposium will address the end user scientists’ access to substance collections. Not only the searching of substance collections, but also included will be the display of substance answers. Topics may include new ways to enter structure queries from exact structure queries to generic queries, new ideas for display of large answer sets, algorithms for relevancy ranking, and delivery of substance searching on tablets and mobile devices. Selected presentations will focus less on substance databases themselves, and more on features and functions that allow end user scientists to navigate larger and larger substance collections. Presentations will be 25 minutes in length.

We encourage you to submit an abstract for this symposium at http://abstracts.acs.org. The submission deadline is October 7, 2013. If you have any questions, please contact Roger Schenck at rschenck@cas.org.
