- 1943: The Chemical Literature Group formed within the Division of Chemical Education
- 1948: The Chemical Literature Division formed
- 1975: The Chemical Literature Division renamed the Division of Chemical Information
- 1993: CINF celebrates its 50th anniversary: There is a publication available that highlights CINF's 50th anniversary celebration held at the 1993 Fall National ACS meeting. It is available for free online.
